Real Estates Renovations and Refurbishments
An affordable kitchen renovation in South London:
The Client asked to have a similar configuration of the old kitchen, it started from measurements and drawings, the selection of the products then proposed, discussed and approved by the Client.
As the flat is destined to be in rent, I chose colours quite neutrals as greys, blacks, whites and to "warm up" a little the room I used a laminate floor with natural wooden effect.
I selected a simple and linear kitchen in MFC (Melamine Faced Chip boards) , a gloss light grey, handleless.
An Ultra-Thin hard laminate worktop colour grey, a product quite expensive but of good quality and it gives a modern and minimal effect to the kitchen, the sink is in composite colour graphite with a mixer tap brushed nickel
For the splashback, the tiles 600x300 mm selected are not a flat white but a cloudy white/grey matte, they are cut to be aligned with the joints of the units of the kitchen at 500mm, there is a little of waste but the effect is “cleaner”.
The new switch for the new cooker hood is positioned symmetrical and a thin aluminium trim closes the tiles.
We removed the existing vinyl floor, and laid down a new oak effect laminate floor 12 mm on an underfloor sheet, the laminate floor goes under the kitchen to make it easier clean once removed the MFC plinth.
We closed the top of the kitchen with a panel and a thin cornice at the contact with the ceiling.
All the materials resulting from the demolition were delivered to a local recycling center.
Small details and care that at the end make the difference without spend a lot of money in consideration of the destination of the flat.
An example of a job that goes from survey, measurements, design, selection, quotation, management and construction all included within a Budget and in Time established.
